Why The "Headies" Remains Nigeria and West Africa's Biggest And Most prestigious Award Event
I have been observing the buzz Nigeria's most prestigious award show has generated and found out that nobody seems to be talking about it in good light.
These numerous complains led me into writing this article.
And i start by asking "Why nobody is seeing how much Good the #Headies has done to the Nigerian Music industry"
Over the year, a lot of award bodies have come, eg NMVA (Nigeria Music Video Award), SMVA (Sound city Music Video Award, The City People Award, just to mention a few, I can authoritatively say that non of these bodies have been able to go toe to toe with the "Headies".
Even the world's biggest music award even comes with its own flows every year so I think the headies are doing a marvelous job.
Walk into the street and ask upcoming artistes where they see themselves in few years, and you will hear " I see myself at the headies "
So i will leave you with these few reasons why all Nigerian artistes should remain greatful to the headies and its organizers
1. The "Headies" keeps all Artistes on their toes
2. No other award in Nigeria generates as much buzz as the headies.
3. The headies remains the unofficial yardstick upon which the success of any Nigerian artiste is judged.
4. There is no award body anywhere in the world that doesn't have its own shortcomings and the headies is not excluded.
5. The headies remains the most professionally and well organized award event in west Africa at large.
6. And for upcoming artistes complaining about the flaws of the headies award, it is an act of ignorance because you should know better how much effort it takes to put up a show as big as the headies
